When I was a child, I so enjoyed the idea of a road trip.
I wanted to be in the new, to enter the new experience, I wanted to discover a visual experience.  As I traveled across this Golden Gate Bridge all those feelings flooded me with such intensity.  I wonder why do I feel this way, like my brain really can decode the feelings that just flooded me.

I take the bridge in, I feel the wonder, and it all comes to me. I see "the" bridge as a gate way to the new, a new experience, the idea of the discovery. In my childhood, I marvel of the notion of discovery. The quest was alive in my childhood to discover the new experience. Now as an adult, my rational brain has given me tremendous logic and reasoning, to understand how to take in the new experience, but can I let go, and feel like a kid again, with such abandonment of logic. As I travel across this bridge, I looked in the far, into the depth, of this bridge. The thought of the web reached me, into the conclusion that- this bridge is like the web. It is a discovery of the new, and the wonderment of it all to reach the other side. The temptation of a virtual trip is to be able to reach the new experience at my fingertips, how far will I cross over this bridge? Maybe, I should not completely abandon the idea of just getting out, and taking a drive to discover the world around me.

I feel this is so important in the development of art, to take in the experience with all our senses, and breath in the wonderment. Or have I crossed this bridge too far, that the only real trip will be the web in a virtual world. I still believe the web to be so important, it is doors flying open to so many communities. I especially enjoy the art communities, to be able to connect with those that share the creative realm. I do still believe the natural world is as important as the virtual world, creating the balance can be artful, but worth the challenge.

Art and Wine Festival in Novato

This Art Wine Festival, in Novato  CA, was an interesting one this year.

There where many local artist works, being exhibited in the rolling hills of the Novato  community, in  California.  The  streets was covered with mini tents and many sights to see and take in, along the walk down the quaint streets.  Local artist  came far and near to strut  their stuff, among the fine arts there were many handmade crafts, wind chimes,  many food booths about.  I spoke to one artist whom did not like the direction of the festival this year.  He voiced his concern and was sounding off, that the name alone should indicate what the festival should really be about.  He believed it should not showcase the fine arts, along with the so call crafts items that are assembled in mass production and masquerading as a one of the kind works of art.

I did understand his concern,  I do believe many look forward to these types of festivals to buy  a unique gift, and not realizing that some of the products are ready made order crafts. If the product is mass produced then the vendor should not call their product one of a kind.  I believe the committee that organize these festivals should have a better control of such merchandise accepted to participate in these events, to give the  the artist credit it so deserves,to spotlight, and  showcase their one of kind work that they poured all their creative inspiration to create.  Well, the day did have the happy feel of a festival, the lingering conversation, the inquisitive  looks, the roaring sound of an outside band echoing in the distance. The looks of those happy to be tasting the many wines being offered, through out the many booths, and those tasting the edibles.

I say overall this was a good day of fun, with interesting  sights to see.

I have 45 additional pictures of the festival, if interested please contact me at

The expression of Art

What is the true artistic expression?

The drive to live and breath creative expression, to be original, be a visionary  and be part of something that is greater then sum of themselves. I believe the greatest visionaries show strength through their creative imagination process, this alone is so powerful. My personal view is that Art is the truest and purest form of communication. This process sets forth a clear translation of the observation of the world.
